| A favourite and popular shot at Lake St Clair at the southern end of the Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park. This is Lake St Clair of course, and the imposing and readily recognisable Mount Ida to the East. The ferry leaves from The Chalet behind us and travels the length of the lake around the point in the middle of the picture before arriving at the southernmost end of the Overland Track. Try chapter 7 or so for an account of the scaling of Mount Ida and the walk from Cradle Mountain. |
