Region Trail

Call in for warm, country hospitality with cosy roaring log fires. Enjoy lunch and dinner 7 days a week, from a menu specialising in fine Tasmanian seafoods such as crayfish (lobster), mussels, scallops, oysters, squid and flounder.

The Dunalley Hotel is situated on the Forestiere Peninsula 60 klms east of Hobart. Established in 1866, this Hotel is a landmark in Dunalley. It is prominently positioned on the main highway to Port Arthur and overlooks the hand-dug Denison Canal with its "swing bridge" and has views of Norfolk Bay.

The Hotel has been completely renovated and features a verandah where one can sit in the sun and enjoy an ale or meal, or perhaps dine near the open log fireplace with a Tasmanian wine in the Dining Room. A children' s playground and beer garden are in full view of the dining room which seats 70 people. Two bars and Lounge provide comfort and enjoyment where one can have a flutter on Tas Keno or the TAB. An air-conditioned gaming room with 10 machines adjoins the Lounge.

Dunalley is a fishing village, thus the Hotel is renown for its fresh seafood. Local oysters and flounder are the speciality and the cook's own Seafood Chowder has given the Hotel its superb reputation.

Groups are catered for by appointment. Functions available upon request.
