In Tassals case, ISO accreditation meant two years of intensive work documenting the processes involved in producing exceptional seafood.

What is ISO 9002 ?
The International Standards Organisation is the body which sets the standards for quality accreditation the world over.

ISO 9002 is an international standard covering 20 categories of business management. These include leadership and management, process control, purchasing, training, contract reviews, supplier assessment and more. Tassal Limited, Tasmania's leading salmon producer, achieved ISO 9002 accreditation on 24th June 1996. Every employee of Tassal contributed to creating the procedures manuals by which Tassal now operates to meet the requirements of ISO 9002.

Accredited companies are audited every six months to ensure operations consistently maintain the highest standards. Tassal employees will continue to provide input on how systems, hygiene, safety and production methods can be further improved.

As the industry leader, compiling the ISO 9002 procedures manual often meant Tassal work teams had to research, test and create standards and measures of excellence for themselves. Tassal's ISO 9002 accreditation reflects the outstanding commitment and expertise of team members.
